“Nuts About You” Styled Shoot at The Left Bank for PUWG
September 2018
The beauty of love is indescribable. The honour that comes with translating that love through styling is one that I take seriously! Not long ago, I met a couple whose tastes were as different as chalk and cheese. One loved the look of a modern industrial style whilst the other preferred flowers, candles and all things soft and cosy. You couldn’t pick more different preferences in style, but one thing that was consistent, was that they were absolutely nuts about each other! So of course, my creative juices got flowing and I knew exactly how to illustrate their love tale that reflected a gorgeous mix of both of their characters.
The shoot was held at The Left Bank and the colour palette was inspired by the building’s tones and textures. The candle stands were made of industrial nuts and bolts and were set amongst elements of nature. This theme carried across through all elements of the styling.
Amongst foliage and blooms was a gorgeous mesh backdrop for the ceremony, softening the edges and warming up the atmosphere.
The table was set with cement plates, lit up by the gorgeous glow of candle light.
Personalisation is everything when it comes to celebrating your love. To top it all off, beautiful ‘Hers and Hers’ bar top signs were designed in the couple’s unique and authentic tone. A highlighting touch was the beautiful cement finished cake that was dressed in bright feminine florals, a true reflection of the couple’s softness and edge
Of course, no celebration is complete without some good food, excellent company and memorable moments!

“The Graphic Heart”
July 2018
Every time I do a styled shoot my imagination starts to fly …as in the words of Henry David Thoreau “This world is but a canvas to our imagination”
There is an unspoken elegance that exists within the corners of impeccable geometric designs. Recently, I styled a shoot that was oozing with edgy finesse, inspired by a modern couple who love jazz music. The scene was set at the gorgeous Ellington Jazz Bar in Perth, the moody light and romantic ambience enhanced the style’s tone.
A focal point that set a strong theme for the styling was the geometric heart on the wedding invite. From there, bold shapes and colours seamlessly flowed through each element; the tables all consisted of geometric candle holders and pops of colour.
The stunning colour palette was a lovely blend of traditional red, black, white and gold luxe, all reminiscent of the old jazz bars oozing with passion and luxury. One’s eyes are easily drawn to the gold embellishments and striking roses on the cake, (Oh that square edgy cake!) which were arranged to allow the colour scheme to further blossom.
